The Ancient Mountain Bike Tour is a perfect beginner’s adventure through some of Corfu’s most beautiful and unspoiled natural landscape. Essentially, it’s the same as the above “Grand Mountain Bike Tour” but consists of 80% asphalt tracks, making it a much less difficult ride but still containing some great mountain riding. Starting from the top of Pantokratoras (Corfu’s Highest Mountain) the tour crisscrosses through mountain villages such as Strinilas, Episkepsi and Nymfes – all while witness the diverse landscape of Corfu’s higher elevations.
The tours also cuts through olive groves, natural springs in the village of Nymfes, a traditional olive press and the historical monastery of Nymfes. While not as intense and off-road as “The Grand Mountain Tour” the Ancient Mountain Bike Tour offers a great mix of riding and local culture that is not to be missed, plus we provide a yummy snack. We also stop in for a drink in Nymfes or Episkepsi.

Swimming & Beach Stops
As you already know, mountains don’t usually have beaches but if your heart is set on swimming after the tour, it is something we can build in. Just ask.
Things We Recommend
Sunscreen
Corfu can get hot….very hot! We recommend everyone wears sunscreen, even if it’s overcast as the sun’s rays pass through cloud cover. It’s easy – just do it.
Athletic Clothing & Proper Shoes
Safety is our number one priority and while we do everything on our end to ensure each tour goes perfectly well, we also ask that all our guests wear proper cycling attire. Corfu in the summer can get very hot, so wearing protective clothing made from natural fibers and athletic closed-toe shoes is the simplest way to stay healthy.
Working Mobile Phone & Info
Having a working mobile phone can come in handy, for emergencies and to keep in touch with us prior to meeting up for the tour. Make sure your phone works on Corfu, you have any important numbers you might need and also…..our number: 0030-26630-64115.

Tour Itinerary
Experience It
On our May cruise trip from Venice thru the Greek Islands, we decided to take a break from the standard tour vans to the historical sites and try something completely different. A great ride down the mountain through the olive groves, a visit to an old olive oil press and some beautiful small towns. This is a great time of year to do this tour as the spring flowers are out, the temperatures are perfect and we did not see a single tourist all day! By the way, Stamatis’ family owns the pub immediately next to the bike shop and served us some of the terrific local Corfu beer after our ride, a great combination, mountain biking and then an icy cold beer (best done in that order!).
A Break from Standard Cruise Ship Excursions
I booked a tour for 4 people 1-2 months in advance. Everything went quick and easy via e-mail. Their shop is well equipped, everyone got a bike customized to his/her size. We all agreed that it was a superb experience and adventure, we saw such hidden places in Korfu we wouldn’t have visited otherwise. I recommend S-Bikes to everyone who would like to discover a little bit more than the usual frequently visited places.
Professionally Organized Adventure
Not a big fan of bike riding, but I was met with great encouragement and the loveliest (if not, the best people in Corfu). Shout out to George, George #2, the Captain, and Stamatis. Not one fault, our guide was patient, informative and encouraging. We did the easy tour, which wasn’t supposed to be on the day we did. But Stamatis made a lovely exception! Brilliant sights as well! George is also a babe!

Lovely People – Made it all Worthwhile!
We booked the easy/medium MTB mountain trip the week before by email with Stamatis from the UK without any problems. On the day two riders dropped out due to illness just leaving us two but Stamatis honoured the booking and we had a great ride with George as our guide. He made sure our technique was fine and that we had confidence in the bikes before starting properly (my first bike was changed at the shop due to a slipping chain). The route is excellent taking in high mountains/olive plantations/villages and beach. One of the best rides we have ever done. Exciting but not too challenging down hill tracks.
Fantastic Day Out!
We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and we took the easy cycling tour down Pantokrator mountain with our guide George. We were first driven up to the peak to see the view of Albania, then started at 800m and road downhill ending in Archavi. Very pleasant tour through olive groves and cycling through small villages on the way down. A highly recommended activity to do with teenagers who enjoy cycling.Staff at the shop (another George) was friendly and very helpful. Stamatis answered my emails and accomodated us on the day we preferred.
Great Cycling Tour
We are coming to corfu since many years. This year we spent a wonderful afternoon with Stamatis on our mountain bikes. He made sure that everybody feels comfortable and showed us some new paths. After the tour we enjoyed a cool Corfu Beer ;-). It was an amazing tour and days like this are the reason why we come back to corfu every year!
